I know I should know the answer to this but its a simple question, who should I make make the check out to, in order to pay for my taxes, the “Department of the treasury” or “internal revenue services”? Can I just abbreviate I.R.S?

I assume hot boiling water can destroy the dye and the structure of fabrics, as well as the lint problem.
Any ways of prolonging their life or alternative ways of cleaning clothes?
